Officially organized in 1991 as a nondenominational Christian church, A.I.M. bases its teachings and practices on those of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. By deliberately separating itself from the jurisdiction of the world (man's) system, A.I.M. is free to function solely under God's authority, as is required in His inspired Word, the Bible. In harmony with the Bible, A.I.M. teaches that generosity is a virtue and should be practiced, promoted and enabled. All who agree with this fundamental principle are invited to participate, regardless of their political or religious persuasion. Such participation is intended to supplement, not replace, fellowship in a local church. A.I.M.'s sole purpose for existence is to bring honor to the name of Jesus; therefore, A.I.M. implores everyone who has not yet done so to accept the priceless gift of eternal life by asking Jesus to become his/her personal Savior and afterwards to follow His ways.

A.I.M. invites and accepts freewill donations to be used for benevolent purposes. As an independent and free (non-state) church, A.I.M. maintains its right to distribute donated funds in whatever manner and to whomever it pleases. The fact that A.I.M. chooses to determine Love-Gift amounts and select recipients in an orderly, structured manner in no way negates its right or freedom to distribute its own funds according to its own dictates.

Occasionally, someone questions the legality of the Gift-Giving Project. Christians should be able to decide for themselves quite easily. The Bible clearly teaches that Christians should practice generosity. Which would A.I.M.'s detractors have us believe is illegal: a church accepting donations, or a church giving to those who request financial assistance?

International Headquarters

Formerly the a British colony (British Honduras), the Central American country of Belize adopted a new constitution in 1960 and achieved internal self-government in 1965. In 1981, Belize gained Independence as a Soverign Nation. It's a relatively small country (8,866 sq. miles). The seat of government was moved to Belmopan after a hurrican devastated the former capitol, Belize City, in 1962. The center of commerce, however, still remains in Belize City.

Belize is bounded by Mexico on the north, Guatamala on the west and south, and the Carribean on the east. The coastal region is generally low and marshy, rising inland. Toward the south, the land is hilly. The climate ranges from temperate subtropical to tropical. The rain forest and jungle abound with many species of plants and animals.

English is the official language for the population of 280,000 (1990), but a creol dialect of Spanish is also spoken in most parts of the country. Two Belizean dollars are equivalent to one U.S. dollar. Note: Unless stated otherwise, all references to dollars on this Web site refer to the U.S. dollar, not to the Belizean dollar.

In short, both the weather and the people are warm and friendly. By air, Belize City is only 1,078 miles south-southeast from Houston, Texas. Be sure to visit our Welcome Center and International Headquarters in Ladyville when you are in the area. (Ladyville is just a couple of miles north of the airport at Belize City.)
