Boyd Long
I’ve been on a journey of recovery since 2007. For over 20 years, I worked in the engineering field. However, in March of 2020, something incredible happened. The Lord spoke to my heart, urging me to leave my professional career behind and dedicate my time to helping men in recovery. I know it may have sounded crazy to everyone around me, but sometimes God’s plans are just that way.
This isn’t a job to me, it’s a calling and one I hold near and dear. I always want to remember that it is an honor that people invite me into the sacred places of their life and that it takes the grace of God to steward that and walk with these men until they can not only continue to walk it out but to also lead others out the same way. We can’t keep it unless we give it away.
It’s truly an honor to serve God in this way. I want to thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement of faith, and I would greatly appreciate your prayers as I continue to serve and support others on their own paths to recovery. Together, we can make a difference.
Jenny Long
Hey, I’m Jenny Long! It’s so great to connect with you. I’m proud to say that I was born and raised in the lovely city of Evans, Georgia. I committed my heart to Jesus at a very young age, but as I reached my late teenage years, I found myself drifting away from Him. It was a challenging time for me as I battled with chemical dependency and struggled with mental illness. Sadly, I felt disconnected from God, even though deep down, I knew He loved me. I wasn’t living in that beautiful truth found in the Bible.
Here’s the incredible part of my story: after a grueling seven-year struggle with chemical dependency, I made a life-changing decision and entered a treatment center. I committed myself to a 12-step rehab program. It was there that I discovered the path to recovery. By the grace of God, on August 24, 2023, I celebrated 19 years of sobriety. It’s a milestone I hold close to my heart.

When it comes to ministry, I believe as Christians we all share the same calling, and that’s to glorify God. Ministry is not just a job, or something we do, but rather who we have become because of Him. The ministry that flows through me is Christ empowering others through my past present, and future brokenness enabling me to relate to them and be a living example of how Christ has empowered me through it all.
Being a part of Arise International Ministries (AIM) has allowed me to connect with countless men who face personal and spiritual struggles, much like I did in the past. It’s amazing how my own life experiences can serve as a living testament to them. I get to share how God has given me the strength to overcome my own challenges, and that’s something I cherish.

Bear witness to the transformative work of Christ
Recovering Addict
I am now walking by faith and not by sight. The focus is no longer on my pain and myself, I have given it all to God. My attention is now on Jesus Christ and how He can be glorified in my life. I plan to use my experiences as an educator to lead other hurting women to Christ.
Recovering Addict
Statistics indicate that four out of twelve people sitting on a church pew have a life-controlling problem, and I was one of those four people.
Recovering Addict
I am now set free from the double lifestyle I was leading.
Today, I can thank God for the doors He has shut in my life and for the door that He opened to recovery.
